RIKKA Early Summer
R.SBGH271
Ø 40 mm
Description
The Grand Seiko RIKKA Early Summer is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic 62GS model from 1967. Not only was the 62GS Grand Seiko’s first watch with an automatic movement, but it also, alongside the 44GS released the same year, established the design language, the Grand Seiko Style, that continues to influence all Grand Seiko designs today. Retaining the hallmark sharp edges and flawless, distortion-free surfaces achieved through Zaratsu polishing, this modern reinterpretation features a wide dial opening made possible by its bezel-free construction.
The rich green dial captures the essence of Rikka, the seventh of Japan’s twenty-four sekki or seasons. As spring transitions into summer, the increasing warmth of the sun’s rays signals the arrival of a new season. Japan’s foliage takes on a deeper green hue, gracefully swaying in the ‘Kumpu’ wind as it grows.
Driven by the hi-beat automatic caliber 9S85, this timepiece is meticulously assembled by the skilled artisans of the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi.
